FirstCuts: LeBron V Yankees Edition Drops In March

When I was in college my roommate once schooled me on the hatred people in Cleveland have for the Yankees. We were discussing the phenomenon of everyone wearing Yankees hats, whether they were fans or not. He told me his dad made one thing clear from a young age: Wear whatever kind of hat you want, just don’t wear a Yankees cap.

That brings us to LeBron James, the man who can do no wrong. The King of Cleveland. Well, he riled up Tribe fans by wearing a Yankees cap to the Yankees-Indians series last season, and now he’s cementing his love for the Bronx Bombers with his latest shoe.

Chinese shoe web site X-Kicks.com was first to post images of the new Nike Zoom LeBron V, complete with pinstripes and a tongue that reads “Le-Bron Ja-Mes Clap. Clap Clap Clap Clap.” CNBC’s Darren Rovell has confirmed the shoe will be released in March, although it sounds like it will be a similar, limited release to last year’s Zoom LeBron V that was a New York-only release.
