Going Sideways In Skiing is Not Good

By Spencer Hall

American downhill racer Scott Macartney is still alive, okay? There's official, journalistic-type articles saying as much and everything: no fractures, no significant injuries, and still very much alive. Meaning that you can watch the video of him concluding his run at this weekend's World Cup downhill competition in Kitzbuhel, Austria with a horrendous crash without guilt, since he is now making jokes and recuperating comfortably in a local hospital.

Macartney does earn testosterone-points for finishing the race, sliding across the finish line while unconscious and seizing. Didier Cuche of Switzerland won the race on time alone (no crashes or testosterone-points needed), while Bode Miller shared second with Mario Scheiber.
