From The Couch: Maroney is Bilingual With a Bullet

By Spencer Hall

If you missed Laurence Maroney's press conference, shame on you. The Patriots running back spent the majority of the time flirting with a Spanish-language reporter and touting his deep knowledge of Spanish.

Hola, Super Bowl!

LM: I know Spanish real good...you ready? You ready?
Reporter: I'm ready.
LM: I mean, because I know Spanish. You sure you're ready?
Reporter: Yes.
LM: Okay, here I go...Hola! Estoy bien! Televista!
Reporter: Can you say, "El Super Bowl esta aqui?"
LM: Naw, I ain't gonna remember all that. That's a lot.

Maroney spent the remainder of the time answering one or two serious questions, giving and accepting shout-outs from the crowd, and asking out loud "When do I get to walk on the red carpet?" Laurence Maroney, on the basis of this strong performance, gets our MVP award for media day thus far.
