I totally agree.
One thing that won’t help hockey is ESPN and ABC dropping hockey. With the only current national coverage for hockey on the Outdoor Life network or something, who is going to watch? Only people with digital cable can watch and who would ever realize what games are on. What America needs is more hockey!
I live in a city with no hockey, and you can tell, people don’t even really know ANYTHING about it. I didn’t have that problem in detroit, lol. The nearest team in in Tampa Bay, and it took a Stanley Cup just to get like 10 fans to a game there. I recently went to a Wings game there and it was practically a home game with all the fans wearing wings jerseys. The only thing that can help growing sports fans, especially in areas without much hockey, is for the media to cover it!

Hockey may have the greatest trophy to win. God knows it is better than that stupid crystal football. The problem with the lack of exposer is do to having a lame tv contact. I watch Flyers games on my local network, but when other teams played espn 2 I would watch other teams espcialy the western confrence. I find that I am not doing that now, maybe I’m not used to OLN, but I don’t even know when or who playing. I think that the biggest casultly of the strike was the espn tv contract, and it will cost the NHL more than any else.
