These May Be Signs of Cowboys Coming Undone

The Dallas Cowboys were supposed to roll through to the playoffs this season. I’m fairly certain that every sports writer/blogger/fan picked them to at least win a Wild Card spot and at most win the Super Bowl. Everything seemed on schedule for Dallas through the first three weeks, but their last three games have lacked that glitz and glitter they love so much down there in Dallas. In other words, they seem to be unraveling a bit, losing two of their last three.

And when you’re losing, despite possessing all the pieces to be dominating, players are gonna start speaking their minds. Here’s what linebacker Greg Ellis had to say last night:

"I'm just disappointed in this organization right now," Ellis said. "From the whole deal of it. Things just aren't going real good.

"We're not a complete power right now. ... We've got the personnel, we've got the people in place. But right now, I have to say we're not giving ourselves the best chance to do what we need to do on the field to be at our best in those football games."

"That's all I can elaborate on that," he said. "But, like I said, a lot of things are going on that's not giving us a chance."

You don’t need to be a CIA agent to crack the code here and see that Ellis is most likely calling out the coaching staff. Maybe I’m looking too much into this, but this type of public mutiny seems to be the early signs of a team starting to panic. And there’s much to be concerned about: Their sloppy play against inferior opponents the past two games; Romo being out four weeks, not to mention Felix Jones going down for at least a couple games; T.O. seemingly at the brink of another epic meltdown; Pacman leaving his house; Wade Phillips as a head coach.

Perhaps this is just wishful thinking on behalf of a Redskins fan, and really at this point it could go either way, but it’s not hard to imagine a Cowboys decline continuing to the point where this team misses the playoffs. Especially in the NFC this season, where 10 wins might not be good enough.

UPDATE: And what perfect timing. Less than two hours after I wrote this, Pacman Jones was suspended indefinitely by Roger Goodell. At the minimum, he's out four games.

Jerry just used the two picks he got for Pacman’s suspension to get Roy Williams.

The good news, it’s only early in the season, the bad news, it’s only going to get alot worse before it gets any better. Jerry Jones got his beloved Boys into this you better hope he can do the same to get ’em out of this debacle.

I wonder how Terrell Owens is going to react to the fact that Pac Man is getting all the headlines as well as all of the attention in Dallas.

Dallas just needs to forget about all the Super Bowl talk, doubters and just play the freakin game like they are capable of.  Ten games to go and plenty of time to right the ship.

Now as a Cowboy hater, it would be all to satisfying to watch this ego heavy team fall flat on their face and miss the playoffs.

If somebody doesn’t step up and call some players out, the Boys will find themselves out of the playoffs or first round losers again.

Yeah, we’re sone, season over.  GIMME AN F’IN BREAK.  The F’in Media is so full of s—t, and blow things WAY out of proportion.  Just like the economy, it’s bouncing back.  For cripes sake we’re 4-2, NOT 2-4.  Dealing with adversity is all part of football.  NO team goes without it, and in the end will make you stronger.  The Boys will STILL be a force to be reckoned with.

That was typo folks, should’ve said We’RE DONE, not Sone, lol.  Sorry.

I’m not sure what you were reading, colacane, but no one said that the Cowboys are done.

I did.

Not that it matters.

Who else predicted the loss in Arizona?
