Redskins' Todd Yoder Was Either Trampled By an Elephant Or Just Plays on Special Teams

This is Todd Yoder. He’s the Redskins back-up tight end, and where Chris Cooley is utilized as more of a receiving tight end, Yoder is more of a blocker. He also plays on special teams -- the unfortunate fate of many a back-up player -- which is where this happened on Sunday:

Yes, his entire leg is a bruise. From Yoder himself, who wrote the following on Chris Cooley's blog under the title “bumps and bruises”:

If you want to know what it feels like to get hit in the NFL check out the following pictures. Yes that is the back of my leg with the best bruise I have ever received on it. It starts under my right butt cheek and continues down to about my calf and is now a lovely shade of red to purple. I think in a couple of days it will start to change colors into a rainbow of blacks, blues, maybe some greens, yellows, and reds.
And that, friends, is why you want your kids to have dreams of being big league baseball players instead of football stars. You could take about 17 Grant Balfour fastballs to the leg and it wouldn’t look that ugly. In the NFL, all it takes is one play.
