Via Shutdown Corner, the Titans expect to insert Vince Young into today's game against Balitmore to lead a "package" of plays. MJD notes this could get awkward fast:
NFL defenders are notorious for attacking known injuries. If you've been struggling with an ankle problem, someone's going to step with it. Broken finger? It'll be grabbed and squeezed in the pile. Will defenders attack VY's emotional state? After a play, would Bart Scott walk by him and whisper something like, "Life isn't worth living," or, "There's an easy way out of this, you know."Not to get all Peter King on you, but we do watch sports, at least in part, because of the drama. Is there anything more dramatic on a human level than watching a young guy who apparently considered suicide a few weeks ago try to perform with 11 beastly defenders gunning for him? As deep as we have supposedly seen into Young's psyche the past month, it makes for a very foreign situation. These are meant to be faceless, bloodlustin' warriors, aren't they?
