John Henderson, Dirtiest Player in Football

Jags lineman John Henderson doesn’t try to hide his dirty play in usual places, such as the bottom of a pile or behind the play, when the refs aren’t looking. No, Henderson, as shown in this fight yesterday with the Bengals’ Andrew Whitworth (both players were ejected), is willing to just rip your helmet off and attempt to gouge out your eyeballs in plain view of everyone on the field:

If Albert Haynesworth received five games for stepping on a helmet-less Cowboy two seasons ago, then you’d have to believe that intentionally trying to blind a man would warrant at least a three game suspension for Henderson. Although, in my humble opinion, this was more disturbing than what Haynesworth did.

Meanwhile, I wonder if Mike Ditka still thinks these guys should play without facemasks ...

Henderson is a little punk…. they should suspend him for the rest of the season…. I was watching that game, i love that whittworth was punching him, showing how a real man fights instead of a little girl…

do we know that whitworth hadnt tried to do so first? extra extra o-line men are notorious for being dirty and doing underhanded stuff. especially when they are out manned and trying to goat the other player into getting themselves ejected.

Hey Tampa,

The word is goad, not goat!  Secondly, when was the last time you saw an NFL player get tossed from a game!!  Was that player an offensive lineman  The answers are almost never and probably not!!  Seems like your theory about these "notorious" O-Lineman is nothing more than a bunch of junk!!  Maybe you can feed it to your goat!!

Rather appropiate if you ask me on the day Phil Fulmer announces his resignation and claiming what a clean program he ran, that Haynesworth and Henderson 9both former Volunteers) come up in the conversation for dirtiest players. Fulmer did not produce saints (i.e. Leonard Little) so please do not pretend these guys were part of a clean program that you ran and became the devils after they reached the NFL. You just were able to sweep it under the rug.

dynasty,
If you want to be called dirty, you better be ready to have people looking to take a cheap shot on you in revenge.

Gouging somebody’s eyes has nothing to do with making a football play, especially when the whistle has already stopped.
