The chickens ain't hatching in NYC. Everyone had assumed that because Stephon Marbury, Donnie Walsh and the union lawyer acting as Marbury's de facto representation had a meeting scheduled for Monday afternoon something would get done. Of course, because it's Starbury and it's the Knicks, nothing happened. Frank Isola of the New York Daily News has the breathless reportage.
The Knicks and Stephon Marbury failed to reach a resolution on the guard’s status during their much-anticipated meeting on Monday, according to Marbury’s lawyer, Hal Biagas. At which point Marbury asked Biagas, "Are you going to get in the car?" In all seriousness, I honestly forget why I thought this thing would get resolved. Meetings don't fix anything in Starbury's world. Meetings don't fix anything in the Knicks' world. Ergo, meetings seem useless.
“It’s not resolved,” Biagas said after emerging from a 35-minute meeting with Knicks president Donnie Walsh. [...] Marbury left the meeting after 15 minutes and sat in his Rolls Royce until Biagas, who works for the Players Association, exited 20 minutes later. Marbury’s driver drove to the entrance to pick up Biagas.

Give Marbury his 20 million and let him be on his way. How Hard is that?

He’s holding all of the cards. He’s got the contract and the Knicks are bound by it.
I just can’t picture, with their line-up, why they wouldn’t play him as long as they are paying him. He’s an awfully expensive sparring partner.

A full-price buyout of Stephon’s contract would purchase 1,000,000 pairs of Starburys.

you guys don’t get it. don’t buy this retard out. let him rot. why should he get to play for another team and enjoy the season after everything he’s done to knick fans ??? banish him…and let him rot for the entire season. anything i can do to make this waste of life and talent squirm a little bit.

you don’t get it. either way it’s a waste of money to have him there. either way he is going to get all of his money. why not pay him, let him go, and get rid of the distraction this situation is causing. i’m not a knick fan, but if you look beyond this marbury circus, the knicks are actually playing better than most expected, but you don’t really hear about it because of the marbury issue. i think walsh is mishandling this situation 100%
