Most Raiders Don't Mind Losing, No One (But Tom Cable) Shocked

There's little remaining hubbub over the Raiders, as is always the case in December. Oakland's a bad, awful, no good team ... but not cruddy enough to be interesting like, say, the Lions. The big deal in Alameda this week, following the three-dimensional Thursday loss at San Diego is the horrible reality that some Raiders had the temerity to laugh in the locker room after the game.

Nnamdi Asomugha is the lead opposer to fun following 34-7 losses. As the one of the only non-kickers worth a dang on the roster, he has every right to be disgusted. But should he be surprised? I mean, if these cats look the losses as hard as he does, half of them would be on Paxil or have had their shoelaces confiscated. Losing is just part of Raider culture. Deal with it.

Tom Cable agrees with Asomugha that losing should not be fun. But he's unaware of the impetus of the cavalier mood.
Cable was asked if he thought the Raiders lost so often that defeats didn't carry the same sting as they might on a team that wins more often. "I hope that's not true," Cable said.
Yep. This team really really hates losing, but doesn't show it because ... um ... err ... they are nervous and gassy after 60 minutes of suck?
