Make Pete Carroll Your Facebook Friend

By Spencer Hall

I'm so jacked about this. Psyched. Pumped. Pete Carroll, eternally youthful dude that he is, already boogie boards at the pier in L.A., plays basketball with people half his age, and spent part of the night before signing day playing Wii Sports with his coaching staff.

... and he attends Semi-Pro movie premieres.

Now he's adopted another Gen Y trend/bugabear: Facebook. Carroll has his own profile, and lists "coaching, playing basketball, and surfing" as his hobbies, along with trumpeting his well-publicized love of Stevie Wonder and the book The Inner Game of Tennis, which Carroll credits with turning his career around.

I poked him, but clearly, since Pete Carroll doesn't sleep more than 4 hours in any given night, he's got some time to pimp up his site a little bit. No movie quiz, Pete? No Wall to sketch on? Don't you want my virtual gift of a cup of coffee? I know you're busy running around South Central at three in the morning, but you've got to have one minute in the day to approve my friend request.

Seriously: I made a friend request to Pete Carroll, and will keep you posted to see if he approves it. In the meantime, go poke him yourself at his profile. He'll be jacked to hear from you.
