Pierre McGuire Needs to Take a Giant Step Back

By Chris Mottram

Pierre McGuire is a former Penguins and Whalers coach who now does some hockey commentary for TSN in Canada. I had not previously seen Pierre in action, but judging from this video, he is extremely uncomfortable to work with (the real awkwardness comes at the 1:45 mark):

First off, Pierre, let's take a step back. You are all up in that dude's bubble. Personal space, brah. Respect it.

Second, I'm quite certain Canadian hockey fans have not tuned in to hear your blatant homoeroticism: "You're an announcer with a long stick from time-to-time." Wow. The subject of Pierre's advance was so caught off guard, all he could muster was, "Eh, big mouth ... I guess."

Awkward!
