Brock Lesnar Taps Out At UFC 81

By Spencer Hall

Brock Lesnar could beat the marrow from my bones just by flexing his eyebrows. I'd like to make that clear before you see the video of his 90 second defeat at UFC 81, a stunning loss made even more so by the fact that for 88 seconds, Lesnar looked ready to pound opponent Frank Mir into tiny nugget-sized pieces.

UFC fighters specialize in the tricky, balance-y moves of jiu-jitsu, waiting for a moment's lapse in judgment by their opponent to reach in, grab a limb, and then lock it down before threatening to pull it off your body. Lesnar earned some respect with the performance: in fact, the referee stopped the fight less than a minute into the bout due to Lesnar pummeling the back of Mir's head viciously. Yet, as Johnnie Morton also found out, just walking into the UFC ring looking big and famous is just an excellent way to get a very popular video of yourself getting locked in a submission hold circulated widely on the internet.
