Morning Constitutional: The Black Sox Were A-Holes

We're pleased to be presenting these posts from around the web. They're probably better than ours:

> Top 5 "Bad Guy" Teams in Sports Movie History | Rivalfish
My favorite: The 1919 Black Sox simply because they wouldn't let Costner's character in Field of Dreams into the damn cornfield. That always pissed me off too. Wow, he got to see his dead dad again so he could find out his old man throws like a girl.

> Eli Manning: Still a Doofus, Still a Champion | Y!'s Shutdown Corner
Eli is scoring one for social awkward dorks everywhere. I wouldn't know, cause I'm so effing charismatic.

> Alternate Perfectville Commercial Had Pats Won | Larry Brown Sports
Mercury Morris is still in it, so it still sucks, but he's in it slightly less, so it's about 50% better than the Giants version.

> Patrick Still Trying To Pick Up That Internet Thing | Sports By Brooks
Dan Patrick reads two sites everyday. One of them hasn't been updated in over a year. Maybe this is why his finger is so firmly on the pulse of the average fan.

> The 700 Level Interviews Ed Stefanski | The 700 Level
The Sixers' president and GM talks to a blogger.

WOW, Kal! A fantastic job on this blog! I couldn’t agree more about the outfield and bullpen situation in Texas. They have to have someone that can get the game to Cordero or they will see alot of games slip away from them, again.

I like the Millwood move and that helps them, alot. Sure, his numbers will not be as good because like you said, he is a flyball/strikeout pitcher. But, he should eat up alot of innings and not completely wear that bullpen out. That is where I think it will help them the most.

They have alot of question marks and it will be interesting to see how those changes will affect whether or not they will contend this season.

Again, great job of writing and research, Kal! I will keep an eye on your blog for future posts.

I’m signing off,

BSF

First time blog reader here, and I am pleased with what you have written. I have been working on my own Texas Rangers preview for my own blog and I am hopeful you will check it out.

Hey dude,

As a Rangers fan, I appreciate your blog. Clearly, you are a serious baseball guy. The talk around Dallas is that we are optimistic, even if that means we’re being foolish. If anything, it’s nice to see the Rangers make some substantive off-season moves. I’ll tip my hat to the new youngster GM John Daniels. We’re happy to get a consistent fielding presence at second base.

As you said, we’ll just have to wait and see how the pitching matches up to the competition…and how the new additions to the team handle pitching in the Ballpark.

Keep up the good work.
peace.
