March Madness isn’t just for hoops, it’s also cover season in the video game world! (OK, I’m trying to rouse a little articifical excitement here.) For those of you waiting breathlessly to find out who will be on the cover of
NASCAR 09, wait no more. Your man for this season is Jeff Gordon.

Unfortunately, EA doesn’t have the box art ready yet, so you’ll have to settle for a next-gen image of Gordon’s No. 24 car for now.
NASCAR 09 will be available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and the Xbox 360 on June 10.
But while we’re on the subject of cover athletes for video games, have you ever purchased a game (or not purchased) a game because of who is on the cover? Gordon seems like the type of polarizing athlete who might have this effect on potential buyers.
