Dirk Calls Play-By-Play, Breaks Out 'Short Bus'

Before we get into this clip, why oh why, do live telecasts insist on attempting to do interviews while the game is going on? Announcers are there to call the action in front of them, as far as I understand, so let's just stick to that. Interview guys during halftime or after the game.

Having said all that, when these interviews go horribly wrong (see: earpiece malfunctions), it can lead to solid gold, as was the case last night with Dirk Nowitzki. Real goodness kicks in about four minutes in:



Did he really say "short bus" when Corey Maggette took the last shot of the half? I'm going to chalk this one up to lost in translation, and assume Dirk has no idea what the term "short bus" implies.

And damn, Mark Cuban is insufferable. Bunny ears behind Dirk's head? Really? What a freakin' dork. An grossly rich dork that I'm incredibly jealous of, but a huge dork nonetheless.
