From what I hear from the athletic department, Walker has maxed out his coaching staff and can’t hire anyone else unless he fires one. Captain Loyalty won’t do that. But what Walker can do is reassign someone to coach special teams. I personally don’t think Walker is good for anything but motivating.

Why stop at forbidding Walker from coaching special teams. Simply fire his a**!
Norv Turner is available. :D

Agreed on all accounts. It is only a matter of time before Fitzgerald leaves to become a defensive coordinator somewhere else, unless Walker makes some staff changes. I think the school should start from the top, with Walker. There are a ton of good coaches available. It won’t happen, but we can dream.

I don’t necessarily think that Walker needs to be canned. He has brought stability to the program, as Mark Murphy says. However, he needs to begin to create a more balanced team. Now that he has brought stability, he can focus on recruiting defense and offense equally. That is his major downfall. And Pat Fitzgerald should be a def. coord. at NU, nowhere else. He belongs here.
