Could Brett Favre Be On the Madden Cover?

Sports don't start and end with a referee's whistle. FirstCuts, a blog dedicated to sports culture, will cover everything outside the lines, from games to gear.

A little less than a month ago, rumors started to pop up that Super Bowl winning QB Eli Manning would grace the cover of Madden 09. There hasn't been any confirmation or denial, but in a blog posting from March 3, EA Sports president Peter Moore writes, "I know who’s on the cover of Madden this year – any guesses????"

Well, there's Manning obviously. But Moore's post went up before Brett Favre's retirement. You've got to think that a Madden title would think twice about using Manning over Favre at this point. I'd also add Tom Brady or Adrian Peterson as wild cards in this whole race.

Hey Man!!! I was born in Akron but I live in Memphis. I’m so psyched about the Tribe this season, but SN Magazine has us finishing 3rd at the end of the season still!!! What are they smoking!!!
