Mildly interesting news while we continue to wait for the latest news on Madden 09 -- particularly who will adorn this year's cover and surely subvert their team's season. According to the first installment of "Madden Mondays" on the Gamestop.com blog, gamers will be able to control their own touchdown celebrations:
Not only will unique players have unique celebrations, but different "Hot Spots" in the end zone will feature different celebrations, as well, like dunking over the goal post or hot-shotting in the corner of the end zone. Specific stadiums will even feature their own local celebrations. Can you say, "Lambeau Leap?" We've also been told that an extra "hidden" control will let you steal an opponent's celebration so you can really rub it in. However, you'll have to discover that one on your own.The post makes specific mention of Terrell Owens, who will have more than 10 celebrations in his repertoire.
This is cool, but didn't you used to be able to do this on your own? It seems like they've added to what you're able to do when it comes to celebrating, but shouldn't they be spending time make sure glitches like this, this or this.
After the jump, check out what passed for a celebration in Madden 08.
