Theatrical Production of 'Gladiator' Breaks Out at Sens Game

It’s Stanley Cup Playoffs time in Canada, which I imagine for our friends to the north is akin to the Super Bowl and Game 7 of the World Series combined with a touch of the Final Four mixed in. It’s intense, hard-hitting, goal-scoring, beer-drinking, mullet-flowing, ice-hockey-action at its finest. So, how would the Senators go about pumping more enthusiasm into an Ottawa crowd whose collective head was about to explode with excitement? This is how:
Um, awkward. Very, very awkward. Clearly, nothing says “playoff hockey” like a half-naked man, exposing his sculpted mits center ice, dressed in some sort of gladiator Halloween costume and yelling some “ra-ra!” nonsense, half of which is inaudible because the mic keeps cutting out.

You can hear a smattering of boos, but I think mostly the crowd was just in shock. Although sadly for Sens fans, this on-ice production was probably the highlights of the evening. The team lost 4-1 to Pittsburgh, who now has a 3-0 series lead.
