As you can gather from the image above, the 75,000-seat stadium is built into the ground which, according to the stadium’s site, would reduce construction costs and create improved sightlines for fans. Whatever. It looks cool, and that’s all I care about it.
However, what’s not so cool (and this is where “traditional” football fans may wanna stop reading) is the movie theater above one of the endzones, which is sandwiched between a “Grey Goose Club” below, and what looks like some sort of Playboy lounge above. Clearly, this is a stadium meant to cater to the design jeans-wearing male crowd that would potentially frequent NFL games in L.A., who simply cannot make it through a game without a top-shelf Choclatini.
Still, despite that rather high fancy-boy-factor (Lambeau Field vomits at the thought of this place), I hope this thing gets built. It’s up for approval in September, and if they get the green light, it will be completed in time for the 2011 season.

This is one Angelino who hopes that LA doesn’t get a team. My reasons are two-fold….
1. Traffic. Anyone who lives in LA and specifically in this area doesn’t need anymore traffic headaches. Besides, there are 50 million other things here to do in LA and NFL football doesn’t really get me excited (and a I big football fan).
2. The TV situation. Will my Sundays only consist of watching the LA team on Sundays or will we have an option??? Most people here in LA are transplants who will hate the idea of just watching the LA team.
It seems to me that mostly everyone outside of LA wants an NFL team….I am betting that most people here don’t.

I’m with cable guy. I live here in Jersey and every single week there is
a JET or GIANT game, and on the odd weeks when they’re both away,
there is usually a college game of some sort and the TRAFFIC is a
nightmare!!!! I want them both out of Jersey and in NEW YORK where
they belong and insultingly to the NJ taxpayers, still call themselves
NEW YORK teams….maybe Alaska wants a team……………….
creates a few minimum wage jobs……..

I’m in, too. But I’m afraid that this will be the home of the Raiders.
