In Which Berman Proves That There Aren't Stupid Questions, Only Stupid People

Background info: Jimmy Rollins was awarded with some hardware for being the best player in the National League last season. He is currently on the 15-day DL.

Armed with that goes-without-saying info, watch as Chris Berman asks the dumbest question I have ever heard. And that is not an exaggeration:

Are the Phillies a “different” club without Rollins? Really? You don’t know the answer to that brain buster? Let’s see here: Are the Patriots a “different” team without Tom Brady? Is “The Office” a “different” show without Michael Scott? Is a hamburger a “different” sandwich without the beef? Is anything in the history of things different without the key element that makes it whatever it is?

Actually, that last question could still be valid even if you removed “key.” In other words, even if Berman wasn’t asking about the MVP, it’s still a ridiculous question. If a team loses any player, regardless of their on-field impact, it is now a “different” club.

What’s possibly more pathetic here is that it was a planned question. Joe Morgan knew it was coming and had his response ready. Really though, a simple “yes” would’ve completely and totally satisfied Berman’s question.
