Because Gilbert Arenas missed 69 games this season after knee surgery, he has been forced to cram a lot of shoes into just a few games. He had grand plans to showcase 20-something pairs of his adidas TS Lightswitch low. He broke out the Benihana, Cust0mize, Washington Football and UNDRCRWN editions – most of which are still available on shopadidas.com -- but there will be no more of that this season, according to Agent Zero’s blog.
I got the big call from Stu [Jackson]. Once Stu gives you the call, you got to listen. At first I thought, “OK, they’ll fine me and I can just bill adidas.” But then Stu hit me with the word that I didn’t want to hear: suspension. That’s right, Arenas! You better start color-coordinating your outfits or we’ll suspend you from the NBA playoffs. The last few nights, he’s gone with these two editions that are a little more muted and have some team colors. The way his teammates are playing, he’s going to need to put two versions on his feet at once, and change every quarter if he wants to get them all in during the playoffs.
In another Gilbert/FirstCuts-related note, Arenas' gaming team -- Final Boss -- picked up a Halo 3 tournament win not long ago. Impressive, but can they play Rock Band?
