There are many degrees of getting chumped.
There's the unassisted chumping: you merely be yourself while someone else does something much better than you.
Then there's the chumping with an assist: you pretend to be slightly better than you are, and are then knocked into your place by a superior force. Think: Gary Payton versus Michael Jordan in the NBA Finals.
Then there's the ninth-degree black belt turbochumping: where you, already 10-55 in shooting over the past two years in the playoffs against the team you're facing , down 16 points, and bleeding out rapidly against a superior opponent, choose to taunt the lion who has your throat in its mouth.
DeShawn Stevenson, who can't feel his face because it's been slapped so hard the nerves have died, scoring a perfect ten on the massively assisted turbochumping of himself, courtesy of LeBron James.
(HT: Awful Announcing. And per Mottram's request, this is the last time we'll pick on the abominable performance of the Wizards. For today, at least.)This post originally appeared on the Sporting Blog. For more, see The Sporting Blog Archives.
