Rick Ankiel Is Good at Catching Baseballs

Lost today amongst all of the Jay Bruce man-love (don't get me wrong, it's much deserved) is one of the greatest catches these eyes have ever seen:

I'm not sure how it gets any better than that. Attempting to catch a ball directly over the head is already the toughest catch to make, but Ankiel throws the all-out dive, on the warning track, into the mix. I'm no sport psychologist, but something's amiss when a guy can make that play, but can't throw a fastball for a strike if his life -- or simply a playoff game -- depends on it.

Guess it’s only fair…he used to be able to throw with the best of them, now his glove is helping out.
