You can't really call Ron Artest a polarizing figure. Most everyone agrees that he's one of the NBA's top defenders and, on top of that, a certifiable madman. But there's always going to be some debate over what kind of crazy Ron Ron is. Is he a thuggish menace to society, a weirdo who lives in his own little world, or some of both?
Apparently, [beer thrower John] Green has already been tracked down and appears to be on board with the plan. No date has been set, but the buzz grew enough that Fox's Best Damn Sports Show caught wind of it and wanted Artest to do the interview in their LA studio. Artest, who has grown so comfortable in the studio of KHTK's Carmichael Dave as his unofficial co-host recently, wants to do it in "his" house and Best Damn may be sending a video crew to capture the magic. In recent weeks, Artest did a giddy and surprisingly revealing (at least on his side) sit-down with Kobe Bryant. The aforementioned Kings Blog post has a recap of his interview with Spencer Hawes, which shows off Artest's comedic touch. We think. One thing's for sure: However much talent Artest has wasted on the court, he seems to be making the most of this newest side pursuit. And it's definitely an improvement over his rap career.
