New Cricket Pants Equals Shiny Balls

From the "English as a Foreign Language" department: I read this entire article and understood almost nothing besides the words "the" and "cricket." The rest has something to do with "the battle of the flannels" and "shiny balls," and even though i don't grok a word of the whole thing (I plead American!) the headline is worth sharing.

Shinier balls are evidently quite important in cricket, along with having crisp dress whites, jellybeans for a snack, and keeping your wickets clean. Remember: when the British do sports, hygiene and candy are very, very important.
