What Your Television Is Doing This Weekend

NBA:
↵Only one game this weekend and it comes late Sunday night at 9pm on ABC. Game Two of the Finals will feature Mike Breen, Mark Jackson, and Jeff Van Gundy on the call, as they'll be in the booth all Finals long. The trio did a good job during Game One, but it was a band-aid on the forehead of Breen that everyone seemed to notice.  According to Tom Hoffarth of the L.A. Daily News, the ABC play-by-player recently had a bout with skin cancer and had a cancerous section removed from that area.  Hopefully all is well and he'll be around for the rest of the Finals.

↵Euro 2008:
↵One of the biggest soccer tournaments outside of the World Cup starts this Saturday. There are four Euro 2008 games this weekend on ESPN Classic and ESPN2, and the HR Department in Bristol made a huge move for the Tourney. The network brought on EPL regular and ex-England National Team player Andy Gray and has teamed him with Adrian Healy.  The commentators will be calling games from Connecticut, and while that sort of bugs me, we probably won't even be able to tell.  Here's the schedule:
↵
↵Saturday 6/07
↵-- 11:50 a.m.- Switzerland vs. Czech Republic A (ESPN Classic) - Derek Rae and Tommy Smyth
↵-- 2:30 p.m.- Portugal vs. Turkey A (ESPN Classic) - Adrian Healey and Andy Gray
↵
↵Sunday 6/08
↵-- 11:50 a.m.- Austria vs. Croatia B (ESPN2) - Derek Rae and Tommy Smyth
↵-- 2:30 p.m.- Germany vs. Poland B (ESPN2) - Adrian Healey and Andy Gray
↵
↵Triple Crown:
↵There's going to be more horse racing coverage this week than you can even stand. ESPN/ABC plan on seven hours of coverage surrounding the Belmont Stakes and Big Brown's run at history. The controversy surrounding the Kentucky Derby has mostly dissipated, but an injury to Big Brown's hoof is looming over the race this Saturday. Big Brown's outspoken trainer says everything is a go, but if anything happens during the race the debate over animal cruelty will likely rage back up again. It'll be interesting to see how ABC handles that if it does happen.

↵HBO Boxing:
↵Kelly Pavlik makes his first defense of his middleweight belt against Gary Lockett this Saturday night at 10:05pm on HBO. To start the night we get Junior Featherweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon against undefeated Juan Manuel Lopez. Should be a great card and a good way to spend a Saturday night.
