I have no idea why anyone would side with the Clippers over Elton Brand in this supposed free agent swindle, unless it turned out that Brand drinks human blood and strangles puppies. But for those of you looking to collect all the facts before passing final judgment ... well, good luck with that.
"After I supposedly gave him a take-it-or-leave-it offer, we raised the offer to $75 million and $81 million. They can spin this thing any way they want to try and spin it. The bottom line is, anything Elton ever wanted I did it for him. They stopped having communication with us more than a week ago."Falk is an agent and all agents are monsters, so don't trust him. Dunleavy is playing puppet for the reprehensible Donald Sterling; there's a reason he's the one speaking for the front office. So that leaves Brand who, at the end of the day, had the right to opt out and sign wherever he wanted. That he seems fairly unconcerned with spin, or playing the blame game, is either the ultimate cover-up or a sign that everyone else is letting their egos take control in what should be yesterday's news.

Elton seems pretty concerned with spin to me. On my drive home from work yesterday I heard Brand trying to convince Vick the Brick and Mychal Thompson on a local radio station he is a good guy, he didn’t promise the Clippers anything when he opted out, Falk is an angel, and he was leaving because he was disrespected by the take it or leave it offer. He was telling the same thing to Dan Patrick on the way to work today. Seems everytime I turn on the radio I hear Brand trying to spin this. I’ll be surprised if I don’t hear him on the way home from work today.

Dunleavy is playing puppet for the reprehensible Donald Sterling?
So Dunleavy, who is the coach of the team, is inventing stories to protect the image of an owner who clearly doesn’t give a crap about what the public thinks of him? How does this make any sense?
And you’re comparing him to David Falk, a man who’s widely considered by front offices to be one of the most reviled, deceitful and vindictive turds in the business? You should apologize because that’s just insulting.
Oh, and to your final point about Brand being unconcerned with spin which should make him more trustworthy. Brand’s been on national press tour doing damage control, maybe you missed it.
Sorry to be so acerbic but this is just haphazard sports writing, even for a blog.

When hasn’t David Falk tried to make an organization look like the bad guys? That’s why teams hate dealing with him.

Good Guy – Bad Guy, I’m right your wrong……Here’s a thought, maybe Brand did what he felt was in his own self best interest. It’s a business decision, you really think anybody in the Clipper organization cares about Elton Brand when he’s not scoring points and grabbing rebounds….or for that matter any team? What would you do if you could call your own shots ?

Who cares, Brand is in Phily and Barron is in LA. Both are where they wanted to be and this little war of words just doesn’t matter. If Falk helped make this happen by lying then Elton needs to rethink who he has as an agent. If I was the Clips I would be making a move for Josh Smith right now. Josh has a good future and it would be smart to get someone who Barron could feed off of.
No matter what you think both parties are lying some and both are tell some of the truth. In the end the deals are done, and it is time to move on for both.
The only people that need to talk are Barron and Elton. IF and only if Brand said he was staying and help get Barron there by saying he was staying then he has some explaning to do. after that, who really cares.

Faulk is trying to do to the Clippers what Drew Rosenhouse did to the Eagles a couple years back: embarrase them and ruin their image

In retrospect, I meant to say that Brand wasn’t that concerned with assigning blame; of course he was spinning it by speaking about it publicly so much. I guess I meant a certain kind of spin but yeah, that was sloppy and semi-incoherent.
