FirstCuts: Spit A Verse For USA Basketball

Occasionally, we haven’t been above begging for commenters. Today I’ll do something a little unusual. I’m begging a few intrepid and musically-inclined SN users to get down on this NikeBasketball.com contest.

No, we’re not associated with it at all, I just want to hear a few SN members attempt to sing a hook or rap a verse on a Just Blaze track for the “This Is Our Game Anthem Contest.” J.E. Skeets Brian Scalabrine, get that notepad ready because the world is waiting.

The four final winners will be the featured artists on USA Basketball's anthem for the 2008 summer games. The grand prize winners will also receive a USA Basketball colorway of the Nike Hyperdunk. In addition, you’ll also receive a Nike USA Basketball replica jersey.

Step to the mic and get that entry in by July 25. And seriously, if any of you do it, please send us the recording. We’d love to feature you. And we’re not the kind of people who would ever mock someone.
