Angels Have Good Players, Annoying Fans

Keeping track of west coast baseball is a difficult proposition when you live in the south -- where pro sports are irrelevant unless they involve gasoline -- and the only TV coverage you ever get to see involves some combination of the Red Sox, Cubs, Yankees, Braves and whichever city is lucky enough to officially be renamed “Titletown.”

Despite all these limitations, I’ve somehow (internet) been able to gather that the Angels are fairly awesome right now. K-Rod already has 40 saves, the team is 22 games over .500 and just finished sweeping the Red Sox. All of this seems to have the fans so extremely excited (or they might say, “stoked”) that they’ve taken the already annoying rally monkey thing to new heights of obnoxiousness:

I guess it’s true that people in Cali are more laid-back: Not one person turned around to punch that dude in the face.
