Over the weekend, amidst the latest episode of Manny vs. the Red Sox, manager Terry Francona was asked which is more difficult, dealing with Manny or dealing with his 14-year-old daughter. His response was puzzling:
"I plead the eighth - seventh, eighth, ninth, whatever."So, in other words, Terry would like to exercise his inherent rights as an American citizen for a civil trial by a jury of his peers and/or his protection from cruel and unusual punishment and/or the protection of his basic rights not enumerated in the Constitution and/or “whatever.”
