Admittedly, we enjoy making fun of athletes much more than praising them (jealousy manifests itself in many ways), but when they do something that doesn’t involve drunken stupidly and/or adultery, well, then that’s worth mentioning here, too. Such is the case with CC Sabathia. He may be pitching so well in Milwaukee that certain people (no names ... Shanoff) get upset when he doesn’t throw complete game shutouts, but he certainly hasn’t forgotten about the people of Cleveland:
There's a large, pretty expensive "thank you" inside Wednesday's Plain Dealer sports section.Aside from thanking the fans, CC also took the time to appreciate the little people, like the folks at “Morris Cadillac” (for the free Escalades, equipped with 24s, 12 TVs, 2 fishtanks and a helipad), and “The Neighborhood of Country Club Estates” (for that big ass gate around the community, keeping all the poor people out). It's from the Sabathias -- CC, his wife, Amber, and their children -- thanking the community for 10 very good years.
"You've touched our lives with your kindness, love and generosity. We are forever grateful!" reads the copy in the $12,870 black-and-white ad.

Unfortunately 12,870 reasons isn’t enough…
I love CC for what he’s done and this was a real kind act.. But I’m still a little salty he turned down 19 mil per year.
