X-Games Big Air Event Is Still Quite Gnarly

Jake Brown's 50-foot fall in last year's Big Air sk8boarding event laughs in the face of this year's biggest "slam," but still, this was a righteous one last night:

Backflip rocket air into a 540 melon grab? Really, brah? Looks like somebody got a little cocky. I mean maybe -- maybe -- you could pull a rocket air into a 180 frontside roast beef grab, or even a fakie 360 Benihana, but a 540 melon? Well, let's just say Danny Way got what was comin' to him.

And in case you were curious, Way was just fine, and actually did three more runs after this one because his endoskeleton is made of rubber and Elmer's glue. He finished with a silver medal.
