Updated throughout the day with quick takes from staff.

The crowd fell silent, and after a tense stretch of minutes the medical staff put Wilson on a backboard, loaded him on the injury cart, and took him to the locker room. As he left, Wilson gave the thumbs up sign to show he was OK.
One South Carolina fan gave him not one, but two fingers in response:
He's telling him he's number one -- twice! Yes, that's precisely what's going on here. Wilson has a grade-three concussion, and is undergoing further tests at the hospital in Columbia. The South Carolina fan is a grade-one douchebag, for which there is no treatment or cure.

I’d have done the same thing. Shoot, I’d even have hopped down and slapped him a few, while he was helpless. When else are you going to have that opportunity?

Drunken idiot football fans show no mercy for the guys who put it all on the line for 60 minutes for our personal pleasure, especially for the opposition. Where is the sportsmanship? Where’s the love? Oh, forget it. This isn’t the last time we’ll hear about someting like this happening, much less should I be geting angry over it.
