Welcome to October, Los Angeles Angels

Combine two parts booze, one part winning and you’ve got yourself the perfect elixir for whatever ails you. Case in point: Mark Teixeira, seen above showing off his mad, crazy white boy skillz that he learned from countless hours of Dance, Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2. At least, that’s what I assume. Teixeira sat out the game because of some sort of infection, which resulted in a fever. Yeah, he’s got a fever alright, and the only prescription is more Bud Light and Cabbage Patch.

But I suppose these are the kinds of things that clinching the division on September 10th -- the earliest an AL West team ever has so -- can do to a man. This all means that The Angles are your first official contender for this year’s World Series trophy. They've done it with outstanding pitching and the proverbial "National League style" of offense, scoring just enough runs to win games via the manufacturing process as opposed to relying on the long ball.

The most satisfying part of Los Angeles clinching -- at least for the Yankee hater in most of us -- is that it came against New York. It must’ve been a good feeling for the Yankees to watch the Angels celebrate knowing they’ll be watching from home for the first time in 14 years.

Oh, and it’s also worth noting that K-Rod notched his 56th save, leaving him one shy of matching the immortal Bobby Thigpen’s single-season saves record.
