A Banner Week 1 for Football Game Skydivers

Surely by now you’ve heard about/seen video of the skydiver in North Carolina who was supposed to land mid-field at the UNC game, but accidentally made landfall at the Duke-JMU game. These mistakes happen -- the two stadiums are only eight miles apart, which is approximately one centimeter when you’re free-falling from space. But at least that guy landed successfully.

This was not the case for the parachuter at the Cincinnati Bearcats season opener, whose jump resulted in EPIC FAIL when he glided straight into the stadium's parachute booby trap line holding up the field goal net:

(Thanks to Cincy native – but Ohio U grad – Littmann for the head’s up.)

The guy who parachuted into the wrong stadium, did he get beaten up, arrested, and charged with terrorism?

This guy did a great PLF!  Parachute Landing Fall.  See how he kept his feet and knees together then landed on his side?  Airborne! The parachute actually slowed his descent that last 40 feet.  He didn’t accelerate into the ground like he just jumped off a house. Next time he should scout out his approach a little better though…
