Tony Stewart Takes the Expression 'Second Place Is the First Loser' Quite Literally

Tony Stewart missed out on his first Sprint Cup victory of the season yesterday by that much. During his last pit stop, he was unable to get out ahead of Jimmie Johnson, and ended up losing to No. 48. After the race, “Smoke” seemed pretty happy with his pit crew:

Quick, somebody just grab three blonde pit-lizards for Tony and give him his second-place paycheck. That oughta calm him down.

I was waiting for you to post this.

What a jerk.. But I did laugh.. It’s quite obvious Tony can’t get out of Gibbs stable quick enough. I was rooting for him to miss the chase (he probably was rooting against himself too) so he could just leave them early and be his bad self.

That said.. Smoke is a Grade A Jerk and as a racer I hate him.. But I still bow down to Tony Stewart as a man who is in fact "the" man.
