Anquan Boldin Isn't Big on Celebrations

There’s no doubting the feel-good warm and fuzziness of the Cardinals’ story. There are the fans, who get to see their team play in the Super Bowl for the first time ever. There’s Kurt Warner, who was washed up five years ago in New York, yet has proved he is the real MVP this season, and possibly solidified himself as a Hall of Famer. There’s the team itself, which was written off by everyone heading into the postseason because, over the six weeks or so of the regular season, it certainly looked like they didn’t belong in the playoffs.

For the people of Arizona, and for the rest of us who love an underdog and can’t stand Eagles fans, there was plenty to smile about on Sunday.

Although, if CBS’ Mike Freeman is to be believed, there’s one person not so stoked in the desert: Anquan Boldin. After calling Boldin a “jackass,” Freeman goes on to write this:

In the game, Boldin got into a heated argument with offensive coordinator Todd Haley. After the game, instead of celebrating with his team, Boldin abruptly left the field, then abruptly left the locker room.

It was awful behavior.

Quarterback Kurt Warner also got into an argument with Haley during the game but you didn't see Warner acting like a petulant child afterwards. He celebrated with his teammates and enjoyed the moment.

I have to say in nearly 20 years of doing this, I've never seen a player more concerned about his arguing with a coach over making a Super Bowl.

The bit about Boldin arguing with Haley is true -- FOX’s cameras caught it during the fourth quarter. As for the rest, we’ll have to take Freeman’s word for it. It doesn’t exactly seem like behavior becoming of a team player. But maybe he just didn’t feel like sticking around for Kurt Warner’s sermon.

Boldin……Your team is playing well, they’re scoring points, and winning games and you act like it’s all about you.  Talk about immaturity !?!?!?

Do we have a T.O. in the making?

If I remember right, didn’t he want out of town halfway through the season when the team was like 6-2 or something. Then he was obviously upset when Warner overthrew him in the game. So, I think he has a lot of TO in him.

Yeah, I think it’s pretty clear he wants out of town, dgrasmick.

Boldin wants to win, he got caught in the heat of the moment when the Cards were struggling in the 2nd half when the Eagles mounted their comeback.  It happened at a time where he wanted to be put in the game, and Haley knew better.  He wasn’t running at full strength the whole game, you could tell.  If he was selfish he would have sat out the game which he had every right to.  I bet he’ll have a monster game in the SuperBowl with 2 weeks to heal.

Boldin is a great receiver and has been there before Fitz.  Despite the contract negotiations and the negative publicity over it, he had a GREAT season despite missing some games.  I don’t think he wants out of town, he wants a contract comparable to Fitzgerald’s.

Warner "overthrew" Boldin because of the pass rush and was going down as the ball left his hand. It was a great play call on both sides of the ball and that’s what it is all about at this time of year. The best begets the best. Boldwin has been injured and is obviously frustrated. He gets another week or so to heal. Keep getting the treatments, Anquan, and come out firing on all cylinders. It’s all good. Leave it to the peeps to find drama when there isn’t any. It’s all good in Cardinal land!

I can understand the rehash when everyone else had a legit story to write, but what’s with the closer? Sermon?? What the problem with Kurt giving credit where credit is due.? The guy’s story is one of the best in the NFL. Maybe consider covering THAT rehash, instead of gunning for a chuckle.
AND like it or not, considering Big Ben’s faith angle as well, this will be another Super Bowl filled with as much class as the Tony Dungy/Lovie Smith matchup, so deal with it.

SN Staff?? More like staph, IMHO
