I guess there are two schools of thought for the Cowboys’ offseason: Having learned from the seemingly destructive experience of letting Hard Knocks cameras into camp last season, they could eliminate outside distractions, and focus solely on making themselves better next year. Or they could create more distractions to help themselves forget about the current distractions.
Obviously, the team will go with the former, which is why they’re sponsoring a Michael Irvin-hosted reality show in search of the next Cowboys training camp invitee -- wait, no. No, this isn’t going to help shutdown the sideshow one bit. In fact, I’m fairly certain this is the exact thing the Cowboys don’t need right now. If Dallas made a to-do list for the offseason, No. 1, right ahead of “keep T.O. on the roster,” would be this:
The first time Michael Irvin watched "American Idol," he loved the concept of giving undiscovered singers the chance to become stars. Now Irvin is doing the same for NFL wannabes.Michael Irvin, continuing his admirable work as an inspiration to young men everywhere. He’s doing this for you, don’t you see? It has nothing to do with publicity and money for Michael. He’s like the Gandhi of the west. The Hall of Fame receiver is launching a reality TV show in which 12 "football neophytes" will compete for an impressive grand prize: a spot on the Dallas Cowboys' training camp roster.
The Cowboys confirmed that one of their 80 roster spots will go to the show's winner. ...
"What young man do you know that's not going to read (about this show), then head straight to the gym and say, 'I'm going to get ready,'?" Irvin said. "That's how this will inspire people."

You guys really seem to love that picture. You also seem to love everything Cowboy. Just imagine what you would be reduced to without them.

A) It’s the greatest picture of Michael Irvin available on the internet. B) We aren’t going out of our way to cover the Cowboys. The team is just an endless stream of ridiculous material.

Then you should do more stories on JJ. He’s the REAL genius behind the endless stream of ridiculous material. But, I guess Irvin’s an easy target.

I’d much rather see an actor perform a dramatization of Irvin’s antics during his heyday… probably not many bitchez will e held at gunpoint in this potential Yawn Factory of a show.

No, I meant to say "former" — it was sarcasm.

What a huge surprise.

Wait, was that — gasp — sarcasm, Bone? See, it’s not actually all that hard to pick up on. I’m not sure why most SN members continue to struggle with the concept.
