Super Bowl Ads Almost Sold-Out, Non-Veggie

You may be selling pencils on the streetcorner and reading this on a jerry-rigged Tandy sucking power from a tapped pipe underneath an overpass, but someone is doing just fine in this economy. NBC announced they are down to the last four spots left for Super Bowl ads, and would "probably" set a record for revenue from ads. Take that, recessionaires!

↵One ad you will not be seeing is "Veggie Love," an ad featuring attractive women in lingerie getting frisky with vegetables. NBC refused to air the ad because it "depicts a level of sexuality exceeding our standards," an odd statement given that the network has no problem showing Tina Fey walking around in clothes. (That may not qualify as indecently sexy to you, but it is to me, because she makes my palms sweat when she comes on screen, and it's hard to hide that from your wife when you're watching the show.)

↵Anyway, here's the ad, which is racy if you've been in an induced coma for the past fifty years. You've been warned: this video features women in their underwear and bad guitar music.

↵The only thing indecent about the ad is the knockoff Whitesnake they're playing in the background and their patently untrue implication that any vegetarians actually have the strength to pick up a whole pumpkin. NBC will have to console itself by putting something acceptably sexy in its place like Howie Long telling you what an absolute wimp you are for driving a car that gets more than 14 miles to the gallon.
