Beware, France: Lance Armstrong For Senate

Lance Armstrong might be as big a flirt as Brett Favre, always toying with domestic and international media about his intentions. There's no question Armstrong will leave sweet retirement to race in this summer's Tour de France, so the coy chatter has targeted the rider's plans post-racing. Mark McKinnon of The Daily Beast got Lance to discuss those ever-whispered political ambitions.
[Get into politics] because you can get in there and change people’s lives. That’s why you do it. So, there will come a time, or not, that I say to myself, “You know what, I can help affect change.” And if that day comes, then absolutely. [...] You can help raise your children. You can lead the state of Texas. You can be mayor of a city. You can run for the Senate. You can lead a cycling team. You can run a non-profit."
Of course, Armstrong is as non-committal as ever. Let it not be said he isn't a master of getting his name in the news for saying literally nothing.

Still, any Texas pol that might be on a similar timeline in terms of the governorship or a Senate seat just vomited read that passage. Armstrong is gold everywhere in the world but Paris, and nothing could stop him in American politics.
