When the Phillies take on the Dodgers in the NLCS for the second-straight season, it will be the first time two teams will play back-to-back since ‘91-’92 when the Atlanta Braves topped the Pittsburgh Pirates in consecutive seasons.
Previous to that, the only other time the same two teams played each other back-to-back…’77 and ’78 when the Dodgers and Phillies squared off, LA coming out on top both times.
And because you’re wondering, you only have to go back to 2003-2004 for the last time the ALCS was a repeat affair. It was the Red Sox and Yankees, shocker of shockers.
