Offsides: Throw Back the AFL Throwback Unis

NFL.com is actually selling those Broncos AFL jerseys, but the NFL confirms it will not be selling their socks. (For a full breakdown of the uniforms, head over to UniWatch.)

UPDATE: OK, so now UniWatch has the phone number listed for the Broncos team shop saying they are in fact selling those socks. Call 720-258-3300 to get your pair for $15.

Those unis were pretty bad. Mustard yellow and Mr. Hanky Brown? No thanks.

I remember ‘em and I still like ’em (the unis, not the Broncos). Thought the Pats looked pretty good too. Dallas Texans unis looked so much like the Chiefs I had to look them up on the net… they were accurate! And I was surprised that the Oilers were in baby-blue… I recall that being a change in the mid-’60s from more brown-dominated colors. Web contradicts me, guess that memory is the result of having a B&W TV until 1966.

I liked the one player who had his socks twisted so they looked like an old time barbershop pole.  Also like the fact (from uniwatch) that the original socks were burned in a bonfire because the players hated them so much.
