Via Sactown Royalty comes news from the Sacramento Bee that the Kings have banned use of Physioballs in the wake of Francisco Garcia’s freak injury last week. As we noted on Friday, Garcia is out four months with a broken arm suffered when a Physioball on which he was lifting weights exploded.
Now the Maloofs want the rest of the league to know of this grave new danger:
Kings co-owner Joe Maloof told me this morning that the team is sending an e-mail to each of the NBA’s teams today to warn them about these newfound dangers. Maloof’s main intent was to protect the athletes and educate the masses about this frightening possibility.
Frightening, indeed. Did you know Physioballs injury more people in gyms every year than yoga mats and water bottles combined?
