The British are experiencing something of a gymnastics renaissance in advance of the 2012 London Olympics, and if this keeps up, those very Olympics are going to be gloriously entertaining:
Some time before midday the stadium MC could already be heard pleading with a three-quarter empty arena to “join in”.
“We don’t mind if you shout the name of your favourite gymnast like they’re a football team!” hinted the man with the mic.
And also fight those who support a different gymnast than you based on nothing more than the provincially disparate accident of your births! Come on, British soccer fans: Let’s have a little Olympic spirit!
