As if Gilbert Arenas’ legend wasn’t already secure… Yesterday afternoon, as we reported on SB Nation, Arenas was fined for refusing to speak to the NBA media. So, what did he do?
Well, other than take out his frustrations on the Detroit Pistons (24 points, 9-11 shooting), naturally, he spoke to the media. And re-enacted one of the finer performances in press conference history. From the Detroit Free-Press:
Arenas was fined $25,000 by the NBA earlier in the day for not making himself available to the media. After the game, Arenas twice declined to comment on his fine.
"Both teams played hard," he said in the locker room. "I feel fine."
An admirable show of apathy, there, from Arenas. Though, technically speaking, it wasn’t a press conference, and nobody will ever top Rasheed Wallace’s showing:
