In the top of the fifth, Jorge Posada got himself stuck between third and home. He decided to run back to third, where teammate Robinson Cano had run. As Posada approached, he and Cano awkwardly both took their feet off the bag, and Angels catcher Mike Napoli tagged them both out. But only Posada was called out; the third-base ump on the scene claimed Cano was back on the bag in time.
As you'll see, um, no. He wasn't:
The Yankees did not score any more runs that inning so the call ended up not mattering a whole lot (other than it being atrocious). The two plays below ended up not mattering as well, but only because the second awful call canceled out the first awful call. The first is a good pick-off play gone bad. Nick Swisher was called safe here. Not so much:
Swisher proceeded to make it to third when Derek Jeter walked. Johnny Damon stepped to the plate and hit a fly ball to Torii Hunter in center. Swisher tagged up and scored, but was supposedly guilty of not having his foot on the bag when the catch was made. Again, nope:
This has been a good game. It's also been an insanely umpired one. Here's hoping nothing similar happens the rest of the way.

Can't believe that calls
Just horrible. Plain as day you could see the out at second and the double tag at third. Great job MLB Umps, you had your best guys out there lastnight.
