This just came through the Twitter machine, and I’m not sure how to feel. From Dan Shanoff:
I ask you: Right at this moment, does unbeaten Cincy vs. unbeaten TCU for (at least a share of) the national title seem THAT crazy? No.
Do I direct my vitriol at a. Dan Shanoff, b. TCU and Cincinnati, for feigning legitimacy, or c. the college football elite, for refusing to separate themselves neatly into two title contenders?
But I can say this much: I wouldn’t be alone in crying foul over a TCU-Cincy title game. And if years of controversial outcomes involving major conference teams hasn’t killed the BCS, what if that shadowy formula put mid-majors in the title game a couple times over the next few years?
Put it this way: it’s much harder for conference bigwigs to sit complacently in their skybox when they’re watching a team like TCU get blown out by 30 points against say, Alabama. For college football fans begging for a playoff, TCU to the title game might just be a best-case scenario.

What if?
An undefeated #3 and #4 team play in a BCS bowl while 1 loss teams play for the title?
Which would be the NCG then?
