Then, Adrian Peterson decided to do something.
Then Brett Favre had a little fun out there. And I mean very, very little.
That dump-off to Chester Taylor -- bobbled, then picked off and returned for a score by Keyaron Fox -- put the Steelers up by the winning margin, 27-17 and sent the Vikes to their first defeat.
It also wasn't Favre's fault.
What was his fault was the ugly slide about 17 seconds into that video, which in no way resembles a tackle attempt.
With both Favre and Tim Tebow suffering two touchdowns off turnovers this weekend and Tom Brady throwing his first picks since September, it seems the Gods of Football Mojo have no reverence for the sacred cows of the media. Except for Peyton Manning, of course: His 235 yards and three scores in an easy 42-6 win over the Rams demonstrate that he is impervious to such curses.
